About the ESC Insider
The ESC Insider is the brainchild of Samantha Ross, an American Eurovision fan-turned accredited journalist. The blog was started back in late 2009 as a way for her to geek out about the contest and its intricacies without completely talking the ears off of her friends and family (most of whom knew very little about Eurovision). The site (and her obsession) grew, and she made her first trip to a live ESC in 2011. Since 2012, she has been writing under the auspices of ESCInsight and participating the Unofficial Eurovision Song Contest Podcast in addition to this site. She has been interviewed by SVT (Sweden), World Radio Switzerland, and BBC World News, among others.
