Iceland Picks its First Two Finalists

The first of Iceland’s three Semifinals for Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins took place today, and after five songs (all performed in Icelandic), we have our first two contenders for February 11th’s Final. Congratulations to:

Gréta Salóme & Jónsi – “Mundu eftir mér (Remember Me)”

Blár opal“Stattu upp (Get Up)”

Just missing out were:

Íris Hólm – “Leyndarmál (Secret)”

Fatherz’n’sonz – “Rýtingur (Dagger)”

Heiða Ólafsdóttir – “Við Hjartarót Mína (Deep in my Heart)”

We’ll have five new songs announced early next week, gearing up for the second Semifinal next Saturday.  Do you think Iceland made the right choice?  Let me know in the comments!

  1. Top quality from Iceland imo. I love songs 1 to 4 and like n° 5 too. “Mundu eftir mér” is my absolute favourite though. It gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. Pieces of perfection do that to me. LOL
