This Saturday marked the Second Semifinal of Iceland’s National Selection, or “Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins”, where five songs were competing for two spots in February 11th’s Final.  Making it through to the next round were:

Regína Ósk Óskarsdóttir – “Hjartað Brennur”

Simbi & Hrútspungarnir – “Hey”

Which means that the following three acts were eliminated:

Rósa Birgitta Ísfeld – “Stund Með þér”

Ellert Jóhannsson – “Ég Kem Með”

Guðrún Árný Karlsdóttir – “Minningar”

We’ll get to hear the next set of five songs on Monday, and they’ll compete on Saturday for the last pair of spots in the Final.
