First Finalists Decided in Hungary

On Saturday night, Hungarian broadcaster MTV (and that’s “Magyar Televízió”, not the home of “Jersey Shore”, just for the record) hosted the first of two semifinals for “A Dal (The Song)”, the country’s National Selection.  Ten songs were performed, with the top three point-getters from a panel of judges qualifying for February 11th’s Final, and a fourth song being selected by a public vote.

Getting top marks with the Jury were:

  • Compact Disco – “Sound of Our Hearts”
  • Gábor Heincz – “Learning to Let Go”
  • Caramel – “Vízió”

Qualifying through the public’s blessing (as well as coming in a close 4th place through the juries) was:

  • Gabi Tóth – “Nem Kell Végszó”

  2. As for the Hungarian qualifiers, I like them all except Gabor.
My favorite is Gabi Toth now that Attila has been eliminated.
