We’re getting down to the wire in Germany’s National Selection, “Unser Star für Baku”.  Now with twice-weekly shows, the Finals are just days away.  Germany’s top five candidates were given the chance to sing a pair of songs this week; who came out on top, and who’s heading home?

After a very close final vote (less than one tenth of a percent separated her from qualification), we say “tschüss!” to Katja Petri, who performed covers of Michelle Branch’s “All You Wanted” and “Stay” by Hurts.  Moving on to February 13th’s Semifinal are (in order of yesterday’s placement):

1. Roman Lob – “You Give Me Something” (James Morrison) and “Day by Day” (self-composed)
2. Yana Gercke – “Who Knew” (Pink) and “Talking to the Moon” (Bruno Mars)
3. Ornella de Santis – “I’ll Be There” (Jackson Five) and “Love the Way You Lie” (Rihanna)
4. Shelley Phillips – “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” (Lauryn Hill) and “Have it All” (Jeremy Kay)
